Carla Bekkering is originally from Abbotsford British Columbia. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Simon Fraser University in 1987. She then pursued her law degree and graduated from the University of Victoria in 1991. She articled at a prominent Vancouver law firm and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1992. Carla was selected as a judicial clerk for the Tax Court of Canada and completed her clerkship in Ottawa, Ontario and then returned to British Columbia. Christopher’s primary area of practice is civil litigation focusing on insurance, commercial and family matters. Christopher has considerable courtroom experience and enjoys working with clients to create cost-effective litigation strategies to resolve legal disputes.

During law school, Emily was a part of the McIntyre Moot Team, competed at the Canadian National Negotiation Competition, and completed a semester at The Law Centre, a UVic Law program that allows students to take on files for low-income clients under the supervision of practicing lawyers. She also volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. Emily has appeared before the Provincial Court in Master’s chambers, remand court, and in small claims proceedings.
Mosope Fagbongbe, LL.B, LL.M, Ph.D., is an Associate Counsel at Bekkering York. She earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M) from Lagos, Nigeria. Mosope obtained a second Master of Laws from the University of Manitoba and Doctoral degree from the University of British Columbia.

Bhumika is an Associate Counsel at Bekkering York. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Ba LL.B) from Indraprastha University in India and later completed her Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of British Columbia. Following this, she articled at a corporate and litigation Law firm in Vancouver and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2022.

Kirsten is an articling student at Bekkering York. Born and raised in Vancouver, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Humanities from Simon Fraser University. Always keen to experience new cities, Kirsten has also lived in Montreal and London, England, where she worked in marketing and website development, honing her love of words and compelling communication.
